Shallow Bowl | Spalted Norway Maple | 11"diam.x 2.5"h

This large shallow bowl is one of a kind design and hand turned with a reclaimed Maple log. The Norway Maple had once stood on my backyard that had fallen down by a powerful storm. I gave second life to the tree and the nature gave spalting figures. My backyard tree revived to this graceful bowl. The spalted maple wood is containing blackish streaks in the seasoned wood grain that produce an unusual wood chalacter. Before turning the wood block, it was sealed and hardened with wood stabilizer. This bowl was turned to emerge the best appearance of the spalted figures. This bowl will be a wonderful addition to your homeware collection.
